Can’t believe it’s been 25 years since my dad Ivor and me opened Designer Leathers in Peterborough. Celebrating a Silver Anniversary is always special and this is a real milestone for us.
It was 1987 and Queensgate shopping centre was still a novelty. A first class stamp cost 18p and weatherman Michael Fish got it wrong about the hurricane which hit the south of England and destroyed 15 million trees. Singer Michael Jackson was top of the album charts with BAD and I could buy a pint of milk for our morning coffee for just 25p….those were the days!
The business has flourished since then and many of our early customers have become friends and recommended us to others. We are proud still to be one of the few independent retailers in Peterborough.
Big thanks for your support over the past 25 years – to help celebrate send us an email and tell us what you remember from 1987.
